The Program

The role of creativity, heightened awareness and presence (qualities traditionally cultivated through artistic practices) are increasingly identified as central components of success in both meeting business objectives and supporting personal well-being. We believe the time is ripe to harness these potentials in our work, for ourselves and our clients.

Using a combination of experiential learning and conversation, we will explore how the arts can strengthen our skill as coaches, help us better understand the context in which our work takes place, and point us toward the future that is emerging in our profession.

The Setting

The program is held outside Poitiers, France, at the lovely Chateau de St. Julien, whose history dates from the 12th Century.

The setting plays an important role in our time together. Evocative, yet grounding, the old stones speak of the building’s history as a noble’s estate, a nun’s convent, and – at the turn of the 21st century – an artists’ community. We will benefit from the ambiance, as we create our own learning community, turning our attention to what is unfolding in and among us.

Chateau de St. Julien

Chateau de St. Julien

The chateau is sited on a 55-acre walled estate, containing gardens, fields, and forest, in the quiet village of St. Julien l’Ars, in the Poitou-Charente region of France, south of the Loire Valley. Lodging is in the chateau. Most meals are provided family style in the 18th century dining room.
